Single Sign On (SSO) system

From ClarolineDoc

Single Sign On (SSO) is an authentication process enabling user to authentificate once, and again access to multiple systems. For example, once authenticated in the library catalog, students don't have to re-enter their password to access their Claroline courses or their web mail.

Since Claroline 1.6, the platform provides two different SSO systems :

  • An SSO system based on CAS. It lets a Claroline platform relying on an external SSO server.
  • An other internal SSO. It lets other applications relying on the Claroline user list and authentication system. This system is working with the SOAP web service standard.
