Administering the platform
From ClarolineDoc
To enter on the platform administration page :
- Click on Platform Administration at the top of your home page.
- Insert your administrator Username and Password.
Note : until Claroline 1.6 platform admin is protected by a .htaccess file .htpassword contains the original login pass given on install.
You can edit it with a tool in admin/managing/addAdminInhtpassword.php

For every option, change the settings according to your needs and validate the changes.

Modify the home page text zones
- Go in the Administration section.
- Click on Home page text zones under Platform.
- Select the page you want to modify.
- Change it and save.
- Finally, click on Preview to see your modifications.
Modules
With the Modules system, you can build your own Claroline extension.
- Create or install your own tools for Claroline and share them with the community.
- Personalize your platform tools list by activating or deactivating existing tools, for all the courses at once.
- Personalize the existing banners and menu in Claroline by adding your own contents or links.
Examples of modules:
- "Who is online"
- A survey tool to create and use surveys in your courses
- A complete search engine based on phpdig, using xml based indexation and metadatas
- And lots of other tools to come..

See the platform statistics
In the Administration section :
- Click on Platform statistics under Platform.
- Click on the statistics that you want to see (Platform, Access to campus, Access to courses, Access to tools)
Tips : click on Show all to see all statistics or Show none to hide all.
Scan technical fault
This options enables to find technical faults in the following categories :
- Accounts with the same users
- Accounts with the same e-mail
- Courses without a lecturer
- Courses without student
- Logins not used
- Accounts with same User name AND same Password
- Courses not used
Just click on the category to get the information you need.
